5 things you can do after BTech

Most of us might have thought about life after our bachelors. We are left with plenty of options. The thing is, we need to choose a thing from them which matches our interests and capability. The right one we pick, the more the chances of getting success in that field.

Here are some options we may consider after Btech.

Job
Service oriented companies:TCS, IBM, WIPRO etc..
The average salary in these type of companies is around 20-25K. We are not going to learn anything in these kind of companies except learning how to use existing API’s. These companies recruit us as a backup for their company. Chances of hike in salary is very less unless you perform exceptionally well in the industry.
Product based companies   :Google,Amazon, Microsft etc..
Generally the salaries in these companies are high around 70K-100K. We will learn how to develop solutions to the problems. The recruitment process is tough compared to service  oriented companies. Working conditions are friendly. We can even work from home.
Masters
MBA
To get a MBA degree in india, We need to crack CAT examination. Cracking CAT exam involves a continous preparation and efforts for around 2 years as it is one of the toughest examination in India. The competition for CAT is very high. Eventhough if we crack the examination, the chances of  getting interview call from best institutes like IIM’s is not guaranteed. Now a days IIM’s are prefering experienced people than freshers. We need atleast 1 year of experience in a MNC company to get the interview call. If we get admitted into best business schools, the fee will be around 25L for 2 yrs. The salaries offered after MBA ranges from 15L-20L per annum and the jobs in management involves lot of stress.
Preparation for CAT increases our analytical abilities as it involves solving more Aptitude questions.
MS
Generally we prefer MS to get settled in Overseas, say US. The examination to be appeared are GRE/TOEFL. The examination is very easy. Just 2 or 3 months of preparation is enough to get good score in GRE. And the cost for completing MS is around an average of 25-30L. After MS if we want to settle abroad, we need to work in consultancies at initial stages. These jobs are not permanent. It requires switching from one job to another. The salary will be around 30L per annum. Again, as cost of living is more in European and American countries, these salary just serves our basic needs. Just like MBA, students with internships/ Experience will get benefitted compared to others. And the test takers are from Whole ASIA.
Mtech/ME
To get admissions for Mtech/ME, one should clear GATE(Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) examination. Compared to other examinations, preparation for these exam is somewhat tough. But If we are thorough with basics of core subjects in Bachelors, cracking Gate is not that tough. The competition for GATE is moderate as it is divided branchwise (i.e CSE,ECE,EEE,MECH,CIVIL etc). Again doing MTech/ME in normal colleges is not advicable. We need to get Admissions in IIT’s, NIT’s, IIIT’s etc.. Coming to oppurtunities through GATE, we can get calls from PSU’s (Public Sector Units)depends on our GATE score. If anybody want to start their career in teaching field, MTech is best option. After completing masters in good colleges, the chances of getting job in product based companies will be very high. Generally the packages ranges from 12L-20L. This is enough  to live a comfortable life in INDIA.
Incase if you failed in cracking GATE, that preparation won’t get wasted. It may be useful in some other form like cracking interviews.
Completing masters in IIT’s involves less cost, something around 1 lakh. There are more chances of getting Stifund in universities. So one can say, we can complete Mtech/ME without any cost.
Own business
This thing completely depends on Individual who is going to setup the business.

So think carefully and choose the right thing that suits you.
